Nokia Lumia 920 features and details
Nokia and Microsoft have publicized the Lumia 920 smartphone, in New York. This Windows Phone 8 leading device will be unveiled in October end this year.
The phone has a few obvious features like an 8 Megapixel camera, 4.5-inch display, 1.5 Giga hertz twin-core Snapdragon S4 SoC, 1 giga-byte RAM, 32 GB of storage and also wireless charging that is built-in. What came as a surprise is Microsoft and Nokia’s claim of the Lumia 920 having the most technologically advanced camera and an LCD display better than any other smartphone. Let us take a look at these two features closely:
Camera sensor packs in 8.7 million pixels. The camera module of this smartphone unlike the others available is geared with ‘optical image stabilization’. This technology is mostly used in the lenses of professional cameras such as Canon and Nikon. It helps in counteracting unstable movements of the hands. In the smartphone it is the springs and tiny motors that keep the camera’s module steady.
In front of this sensor is placed an f/2.0 lens from Carl Zeiss, which Nokia claims provides the biggest-aperture, among the smartphone varieties. The sensor too is larger in size than the others available on other smartphones.
Nokia’s PureView incorporates some smart software that provides smoother videos and sharper photos.
The smartphone has a 1280 x 768 PureMotion (WXGA) HD and IPS- LCD display. Nokia declared that the Lumia 920 offers a display that is brighter by 25%, 2.5 times more responsive than the other smartphones.
The display uses ClearBlack technology (this makes what is written on the screen legible). Nokia also announced that this phone’s touchscreen is ‘most sensitive’ than any other. Thus with such features we can surely say that Nokia Lumia 920 is gunning for a spot with the gadget giants in the industry.
