Sony RX1 Full Frame Point and Shoot Compact Camera features and price
Sony – the Japanese manufacturer- was working on Sony RX1 camera. There are a few leaked images of a camera that has surfaced and is being touted as Sony’s RX1. It looks like a more beefed up variety of the previous highly-acclaimed model –RX100 compact camera that had a smaller 1inch sensor.
According to what is being reported, Sony RX1 might have certain features such as the 24 MP image sensor which is the same as the A99 DSLR. The RX1 will be capable of producing RAW files of 14-bit. It can also brag of an ISO range between 100- 25,600.
This all new camera will come equipped with a burst mode that will be able to capture 5 frames every second, and will be able to record 1080p High Definition videos. The camera will have a 3 inch screen and will have a 35mm F2 fixed-focal length Carl Zeiss lens.
There is a major drawback- it does not have a lens-release button. Also the three inch screen will not have the 3-way tilting system.
The images also show the camera having a pop up flash along with the capacity for accommodating bigger flash equipment. There is also an option of custom settings.
The inclusion of a full frame sensor looks like a possibility. There is also the chance of having the sensor occupied with pixels that will reduce the image quality drastically.
There is no information about the price of this camera. However, it is expected that the product will be within the price range of $2700-$3000. Which in the Indian currency is Rs 1,50,000- 1,66,000.
Camera analysts have said that this heavy price is illogical for a camera that has a fixed lens. Sony has stiff competition from Nikon D800 and it will be interesting to see which product has a commercial success.
